Dog Hollow Speedway is a 0.400-mile (0.643 km) dirt track speedway located at 152 Hamill Road, Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania. Built by James (Jim) Minchy, construction began in 1996 and was completed in mid-1998.
Run by Jim and his brother John, the track featured regular Friday night events and hosted nearly every dirt track class in the region. Jim’s friend, Terry “Mole” Bassaro, managed track maintenance, the food stand, PR, and marketing.
The track’s primary headliner in its early years was the Super Late Models, boasting the highest regular weekly entrants in the region. In 2011, the circuit featured the nation’s top divisions of 410 Sprint Cars and Big-Block Modifieds. Winged 305 Sprint Cars were a regular fixture for Friday night racing until June 2013.
In June 2013, tough economic times forced Jim Minchy to announce the circuit’s closure. This marked a significant change in the track’s operations and future.
In 2014, DMS Motorsports obtained a lease on the circuit, hosting the RUSH Series Crate Late Model, Super Late Models, RUSH Stock Cars, Micro Sprint, and enduro events. The global situation in 2020 however put an end to the racing that year.
RFR Motorsports held a lease on the circuit from 2021 until early 2023. They continued to host events until announcing the track’s closure and handing the circuit back to Jim Minchy.
J&E Motorsports then took over management and currently runs regular events at the speedway, featuring 358 Late Models, RUSH Crate Late Models, Pure Stock, and Four Cylinder classes.
